Taste of Dublin

We’re looking forward to heading along again to Taste of Dublin, Ireland’s Premier Outdoor Food and Drink Festival.
This will be the sixth consecutive year of the festival, and it is running from Thursday 9th June to Sunday 12th June, in the stunning surrounds of the Iveagh Gardens, Dublin 2. Taste of Dublin gathers the great gastronomic triumphs of the city all in one location for your dining pleasure. It is billed as the social event of the summer & “the ultimate adventure playground for foodies”.

Delicious al-fresco dining, wine tastings, live chef demonstrations… and  all within the compounds of the handy city centre location. Looks like we’ll be spoilt for choice too, going by the impressive list of venues cooking up their signature dishes.

Returning favourites to the event line up include:
Bang, Bon Appétit, Chapter One, Dylan Restaurant, Eatery 120, Ely, Jaipur, Pichet, Salon des Saveurs, Town Bar & Grill and The Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Hotel.

& some interesting new additions are:
Cliff Town House, Pearl Brasserie and The Exchange Restaurant in the Westin Hotel.

There is an impressive list of chefs showing off and sharing their culinary skills too, including Derry Clarke, Conrad Gallagher, Clodagh McKenna, Catherine Fulvio, Neven Maguire, Ross Lewis and Donal Skehan, to name but a few.

Some exciting new features this year include a Weber BBQ Masterclass, where you can learn the secret to grilling the perfect steak in a slick 60’s Airstream. There is also a Taste of Thailand and Taste of Malaysia, providing some traditional Asian culinary delights.
Other things to look forward to are a chance to develop magic mixology skills in the Edward Dillon Spirit Academy and unleash your hidden sommelier in the Edward Dillon Wine Academy.
Alternatively just relax and soak up the atmosphere in the luxurious Appletiser VIP Suite, and enjoy the electric atmosphere with musical entertainment on the Live Stage.

Once again there is a Family Day taking place on the Sunday afternoon, where children can enjoy activities such as face painting and balloon making.  There will be ‘Mini Me Demonstration’, where some of Ireland’s top chefs will cook with their own children proving that food passion can strike at any age.  This year, Taste of Dublin has chosen the children’s charity Barretstown as their charity partner, and hopes to raise much needed funds to support this fantastic organisation.

Plenty there to look forward to in any case.  Tickets for Taste of Dublin are now on sale (starting from €15 excl. booking fee). For more information head to  www.tasteofdublin.ie.

We’re giving you a chance of winning a pair of free tickets to the event too. Just follow the link here for details on how to enter our competition.
